Dr. Gabriel Rodríguez has been honored with the Houston Mayor’s Hispanic Heritage Award in Healthcare (2025), the Texas Senate Commendation, and an official City of Houston Proclamation declaring October 6 as “Dr. Gabriel Rodríguez Day.” These distinctions celebrate his recent groundbreaking contributions to neuropsychology such as the discovery of a new medical syndrome and his dedication to advancing brain injury research and patient care. In 2024 Dr.Rodríguez discovered a medical condition which was classically located in the frontal lobe for more than 125 years. After rigorous methodologies, expert consulting and objective neuropsychological tests and imaging Dr.Rodríguez was able to challenge and probe that the 125 old syndrome was not due to brain location as it could appear after injuries to other brain structures.

Dr. Rodríguez is a bilingual clinical neuropsychologist recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to brain injury rehabilitation .He is the discoverer of GAAB Syndrome—a newly described post-frontal injury condition—published in international medical journals.
Dr. Rodríguez has been working on awake brain surgeries for almost 16 years. Beyond his clinical work, he advocates for accessibility in science, health education, and cross-cultural rehabilitation.
